Really interesting reading, I like the way you've managed to combine ICT and traditional methods, look forward to hearing how the topic continues.

Thanks for the comment. As someone who is drawn to using ICT in the classroom simply because I find it exciting myself, I think it is vital to assess the impact it has on learning. Whilst this can be difficult sometimes to distinguish between the ICT impact compared to non-ICT, I would definitely say that in this theme, the combination of both traditional methods and cutting edge technology gave a greater impact on learning than either purely ICT or purely traditional methods on their own.

'If the unit is going to be used again it is important to gain the focus of these few learners and also push others further in their understanding of why they should develop their use of adverbs and other word choice'

This is such an important thought and one which needs to be addressed by any teacher using games or technology in the classroom for teaching and learning. When I used Myst with my class last year I too came to the same conclusion and it's only by thoughtful reflection are we going to properly discover how beneficial such tools can become in school.
I've enjoyed reading your post and I'm quite keen on using the activity myself at some point in my teaching career.
